The Belgian police have arrested at least six people, including foreign nationals, on Saturday afternoon in the central town of Wavre, Sputnik reported.

According to La Libre Belgique portal, several police vehicles were dispatched to the Bierges area of Wavre frequented by Salah Abdeslam, believed to be the only extremist to survive the Paris attacks. The operation, the media outlet reported, does not seem to be linked to the Paris attacks.

"We noted the presence of three old ambulances, now transformed into vans, near the highway area. Persons of foreign origin were on board of these, one of whom is known to the British police. We brought these individuals to the station and took their fingerprints. These are British citizens of Pakistani origin. They do not speak French but they cooperate. No weapons were found elsewhere in the vehicles," a police officer told the newspaper.

At least 130 people were killed and over 350 injured in suicide bombings and shootings at a football stadium, a concert hall and restaurants in the French capital on November 13.
Following the attacks in the French capital, the Belgian police have carried out several of anti-terrorist operations and detained a number of people in the Molenbeek district, after it was revealed one of the attackers lived there.

Earlier this week, Belgian police detained 10 people in connection to the Paris attacks during a series of home raids across Brussels, according to media reports.
