All four crew members aboard a military helicopter that crashed at Fort Hood in Texas Nov.24 were killed, the US Army said, the NBC News TV channel reported

The crew's UH-60 chopper went down some time after 5:49 p.m. (GMT - 6 hours) in the northeast portion of the Fort Hood Range, according a statement released by the Army.

Emergency crews found the wreckage after an extensive search.

The members of the Division West, First Army were on a routine training mission at the time, the Army said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

The Army said it would not release the names of the victims until 24 hours after next of kin could be notified.

The UH-60 Black Hawk, developed by Sikorsky, has been operational in the US Army since 1978.

The S-70A helicopter is the export version of the multi-mission UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

More than 2,000 UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter variants are in service with the US Military and more than 600 exported.

The helicopters are manufactured at the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation production facilities based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA. Licensed production of Black Hawk helicopters is also carried out in Japan and the Republic of Korea.
