The maiden rocket launch from Russia's new Vostochny spaceport in the Amur Region, in the Far East, has been postponed for a day, the director at the cosmodrome said.

"Return the launching complex to the initial state," the director said.

"Roscosmos has no information," a representative of the state corporation said when asked on the reasons behind the delay.

All the supervisors of the works are gathering for a meeting, the director said. The employees of the rocket and space sector who monitored the preparations for the launch are leaving the observation site.
