A 5.9-magnitude earthquake occurred Monday off France's overseas territory in the Pacific Ocean, New Caledonia, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The quake struck at 00:41 GMT about 57 miles east of Ile Hunter at a depth of 6.2 miles, USGS said, Sputnik reported.
There were no immediate reports on damage or casualties. No tsunami warning was issued.
