The terror attack at Istanbul’s airport is aimed against the attempts of Turkey’s leadership to repair relations with Russia and Israel, Head of Russian Federation Council’s International Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev wrote on his Facebook page, RIA Novosti reported.

A terrorist attack occurred at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport June 28 as a result of which 36 people were killed and 147 injured.

Kosachev said the theory of the Turkish authorities that the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) terrorist group could have been behind the attack looks as the most plausible one.

“It seems that Turkey is being ‘warned’ against the participation in the single anti-terrorist front being created by efforts of the Russian diplomacy in the first place,” he said.

He added that the tragedy at Istanbul’s airport will not estrange but will more likely move closer the dialogue of the Turkish and Russian leaders.

“No matter what happens, today we feel solidarity with the people of Turkey,” he said.

He expressed his deepest and most sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
