There were no official reports of injuries at the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum shopping mall but German public broadcaster BR reports 6 people have been killed. Germany's dpa news agency reported that police are saying "we expect multiple dead."

Munich police said there appears to be at least one suspect, but authorities would not confirm if any suspects are in custody or on the loose. Dpa reported that no one has been captured yet. Witnesses have reported seeing three men with guns.

The report said the attack started at a fast food restaurant in the mall, shortly before 6 p.m., according to Munich police spokesman Thomas Baumann. He was quoted as saying that police didn't know whether they were dealing with one or more shooters.
