Around 500 French policemen staged a protest in the center of Paris following a scuffle with hooligans, reported RIA Novosti with reference to the BFMTV channel.
The incident left one police officer injured.
A conflict between a group of young people and the police took place in Viry-Châtillon commune in the north of Central France, Oct. 8.
Policemen guarded a recently installed video surveillance camera overseeing a dangerous intersection where a big number of car thefts were recorded.
The local young allegedly intended to destroy the camera.
As a result of the incident, 28 year old policeman had his arms and full body surface burnt. Presently, he stays at Saint-Louis hospital in Paris.
A protest was held in support of the policeman in Champs-Élysées avenue in the evening, Oct. 17.
