Manuel Valls tendered his resignation as the prime minister of France, Sputnik reports citing French newspaper Libération.
Valls announced he would be resigning Dec. 5 in order to run for president in 2017.
He offered his resignation to French President Francois Hollande in a 30-minute meeting at the Elysee palace, according to French media outlets.
