Blast leaves three dead, several injured in Colombia's capital Bogotá

An explosion in the Centro Andino shopping center in Colombia's capital of Bogotá killed one person and injured eleven, Sputnik reported.

Bogota Mayor Enrique Penalosa announced that it was a terrorist attack. Penalosa also said that the victim was a 23-year-old French woman.

"A coward terrorist attack in Centro Andino hurts me. There is one woman dead and… 11 injured," Penalosa wrote on Twitter.

Later, it has been reported that two more people died in a hospital from sustained injuries.

According to media reports, the blast occurred in a toilet room on the second floor of the mall. Following the explosions, the evacuation of people was launched.

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos expressed his solidarity with the victims and ordered an investigation into the matter.
