Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz said that Turkey is the gate of Iran's entry to the West and Iran is the gate of Turkey's entry to the East, IRNA reported.
Yilmaz made the remarks among businessmen of Fars province on Sunday.
'We should turn this geographical status of Iran and Turkey into a constructive and dynamic economic cooperation through efforts of the two countries,' Yilmaz said.
He said that the volume of trade transactions between Iran and Turkey hit USD 22 million.
