The staff of the Turkish Consulate in Iraq's Basra city has been evacuated to Kuwait due to the tensions in this country, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu wrote on his Twitter account on June 17.
Davutoglu stressed that currently, a crisis center has started operating under the Turkish Foreign Ministry due to the dangerous situation in Iraq's regions and Turkey's embassy in Baghdad is open 24 hours a day, Turkish Anadolu agency reported.
He went on to add that this center and the embassy are ready to provide full support to the Turkish citizens in Iraq in returning to their homeland.
