An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the Turkish part of the Black Sea near the city of Samsun, Anadolu agency reported on Sunday.

The earthquake occurred at 02:24 local time, no victims or damages were reported.

Turkey is located in a seismically active zone, and earthquakes leading to human casualties occur quiet often there.

The most powerful earthquake in Turkey came with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale resulting in about 18,000 deaths and was reported in Marmara Sea in 1999.
