The unemployment rate was 9.8 percent in Turkey in July 2014 or by 0.7 percent more than in July last year, the Turkish Statistics Institute's website says.
There were 2.867 million unemployed in Turkey in July. But the unemployment rate for men was 8.8 percent, for women - 12 percent.
As of May 1, 2014, the Turkish population was 75,627,384 people.
Around 22.4 percent or 5.914 million people of the total number of working Turkish citizens are engaged in agriculture, 19.9 percent - industry, 7.3 percent - construction.
The remaining 50.4 percent of the working population is employed in other sectors of the country's economy.
