Constitutional changes in Turkey will strengthen the role of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Senior Advisor to Risk Insurance Management in Dubai,UAE Theodore Karasik said.
He said that the constitutional amendments, which are expected in Turkey, stimulate new visions for the future of the country.
Karasik believes that the amendments to the constitution of Turkey, which are planned by the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will require of him great diplomacy.
Earlier, the Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag made a statement on the need for a new constitution.
Despite the amendments to more than 100 articles of the current constitution, the government has failed to make it more democratic, he said.
Also, after the presidential election, which was held in Turkey August 14, 2014, the former Foreign Minister and the current Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey's democratization needed a new constitution.
He said that the goal of the new government ought to be the preparation of a democratic constitution.
Turkey's constitution does not meet modern requirements, and this issue must be solved sooner or later, said the chairman of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of the country Cemil Cicek.
