President Erdogan: Turkey in solidarity with France

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called his French counterpart Francois Hollande late Friday to express Turkey's solidarity with France, Anadolu agency reported.

The Turkish president also offered his condolences to the victims' families. Both presidents agreed to collaborate on anti-terrorism efforts.

On Wednesday, three masked gunmen attacked the offices of French magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people. Footage showing the attackers shooting a policeman outside the magazine's offices sent shock waves across the world.

Hollande told Erdogan that France knows "Turkey is standing with us." The French president also said that terrorists aim to harm his country's "social peace" by creating confusion over Islam, but that the people of France will not be deceived by their goals.
