Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 12

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkey is determined to continue the process of democratic solution to the Kurdish problem, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc was quoted Feb. 12 by the Turkish news agency Anadolu as saying.

He said that Turkey will do everything to succeed in a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem.

Arinc said that a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem is very important for the future of Turkey.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which has continued for more than 25 years, put an end to lives of over 40,000 people. The UN and the EU consider the PKK a terrorist organization.

The process of a democratic settlement of the Kurdish problem in Turkey kicked off in 2009, following which a part of the PKK militants left the country's territory and moved to neighboring Iraq.
