An armed man broke into a building in Istanbul's Kartal district, DHA agency reported April 1.

This individual has not been identified yet.

Istanbul's branch of the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party is located in this building.

The gendarmerie representatives managed to disarm the attacker.

This incident takes place one day after armed men took a prosecutor hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul.

They demanded the arrest of the police officers responsible for the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan during the street protests in 2013.

Prosecutor Selim Kiraz, who was taken hostage, was wounded by five bullets during special operations to free him. He later died in a hospital.

Two terrorists were neutralized during the special operation.
