Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.1

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cut short his visit to Romania and is returning home, Hurriyet newspaper reported on Apr.1.

Turkish president was to return from Romania tonight, according to the report.

Reportedly, it is not ruled out that Erdogan cut short the visit due to the latest terrorist acts in Turkey. The country has encountered two terrorist acts in two recent days.

An unknown armed person broke into the building of the Istanbul branch of the country's ruling Justice and Development Party in the city's Kartal district on Apr.1. The gendarmerie representatives managed to disarm the attacker.

This incident took place one day after armed persons took the prosecutor hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul. They demanded the arrest of the police officers responsible for the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan during the street protests in 2013.

Prosecutor Selim Kiraz, who was taken hostage, was wounded by five bullets during special operation to free him. He later died in a hospital.

Two terrorists were killed during the special operation.
