Voting ended in UK, Germany and Italy as Turkish nationals in Europe vote in Turkey's 25th parliamentary elections, Anadolu agency reported.

Voting for Turkey's June 7 general election ended in the European countries of the U.K., Germany and Italy on Sunday.

Turkish citizens in England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland began voting at Olympia Exhibition Centre and Turkish embassy in Edinburgh on Saturday.

Consul General of Turkey in London Emirhan Yorulmazlar said the voting process in London was completed successfully.

"The election was problem-free in terms of security, organization and infrastructure," said Yorulmazlar, adding that the votes would be moved to a safe room at the Turkish Consulate in London.

The consul general said the ballots would be sent to Turkey on Tuesday.

Turkish Consul General in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, Semih Lutfu Turgut said: "A total of 741 out of registered 2,915 voters cast their votes."

According to the Turkish Supreme Election Board, there were 81,643 eligible voters London and 2,915 in Edinburgh.

Nearly 600,000 go to polls in Germany

A total of 535,000 out of 1,404,987 Turkish citizens in Germany cast their votes, which lasted 24 days. This number approached 600,000 along with the 50-60,000 votes cast at the customs.

The citizens voted at poll stations in Turkish Consulates in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Koln, Dusseldorf, Munih, Mainz, Nurnberg, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Essen and Munster.

Poll closed at the consulates, whereas voting continues at the customs till June 7.

Turkish Consul General in Berlin, Ahmet Basar Sen said the turnout was at 40 percent.

"I hope more citizens will cast their votes in the following days and we want the turnout to reach 70 or 80 percent," Sen said.

The election board set up 112 representatives in 54 countries for the elections, and Turkish citizens abroad voted at 57 locations in Europe and 55 in other countries.

The upcoming June 7 election will elect 550 members into the Turkish parliament from 20 political parties. It will be the country's 25th general election.

3-day voting ends in Italy

The three-day voting process for Turkish citizens in Italy also ended at 7 p.m. local time on Sunday.

A total of 3,634 out of 10,600 registered voters cast their ballots at the Turkish Consulate in Milan, while 738 out of 2,800 registered voters went to polls at the Turkish Embassy in Rome.
