Safe zone in Syria - key to Turkey’s own safety

Terror and military operations are already becoming a common occurrence in some Arab countries.

The modern Turkey, which stands at the center of the region's political and economic developments, for the first time faced a "live bomb" in 1996 when Zeynep Zilan, a member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), blew herself.

As a result, eight soldiers of the Turkish army were killed and 29 were wounded.

Similar incidents took place in Turkey in 2003 and 2007.

At that time, the PKK and a number of Islamic underground organizations posed the main threat for Turkey. But now Turkey borders with the bloody "Caliphate".

Following the terrorist attack in the Turkish city of Suruc in the country's south-east, Ankara kick-started air operations against the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), which is a serious threat to Turkey.

After these operations, a number of Turkish media outlets, citing the country's intelligence, reported that the "Caliphate" announced an upcoming revenge to the coalition countries, including Turkey.

They reportedly trained more than 700 "live bombs" to do this.

There is no doubt that the IS militants have long ago infiltrated Turkey as "refugees".

At the same time, there are three camps in the province of Hatay, Turkey. The servicemen of the Syrian army, who separated from the regular Syrian army, stay there. Civilians can not enter these camps as they are protected by the Turkish servicemen.

According to the Turkish Office for the Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of Emergency (AFAD), the maintenance of Syrian refugees cost Ankara a minimum of $ 6 billion.

A question arises. The country's intelligence service released 49 representatives of the Turkish diplomatic mission in Mosul, Iraq, taken hostage by IS, without a single loss in September. Is it unable to control the internal situation?

At present, the number of Syrian refugees in Turkey exceeds 1.6 million people and this number continues growing. It is not easy to control 1.6 million refugees.

In this case, there is nothing left but to close the border to Syrian refugees.

The Turkish authorities will likely to do. All actions of establishing a safe zone in Syria are taken to avoid a new flow of refugees.

Yesterday Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the US and Turkey have agreed on a number of issues and one of them concerns the establishment of a safe zone in Syria.
