The police have kicked off a special operation in Turkey's Istanbul city, Anadolu agency reported Sept.8.
Six people suspected of having ties to the leftist terrorist organizations have been detained within the operation.
Reportedly, such operations will be carried out in various districts of the city today.
To date, a total of over 2,500 people have been detained as a result of the anti-terrorist operations in Turkey.
