Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 9

Trend:

Turkey expects Russian officials to arrive in the country and inform about the causes of the airspace violations, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic said at the briefing, the Anadolu Turkish news agency reported.

"We have sent the corresponding proposal to the Russian side about the arrival of the military delegation to Ankara to discuss the violations of Turkey's airspace," Tanju Bilgic said. "However, the delegation has not arrived yet. Russia explained the first violation by the error in navigation. As for the second violation, I don't have any information in this regard now."

He went on to add that the appropriate protest had been sent to the Russian ambassador. "Turkey's borders are inviolable," he said. "Any attempt to violate them will not go unanswered. This is a question relating to the military sphere, there are technical details here, military structures have more detailed information on this subject."
