Qatar wants to acquire large bank in Turkey

Qatar National Bank has interest in purchasing Turkey’s Finansbank.

Qatar National Bank has interest in purchasing Turkey's Finansbank, Haber7 news channel reported Oct. 13.

Currently, talks are underway between Qatar National Bank and Finansbank for the acquisition.

Earlier, Qatar National Bank announced its interest in acquiring the Turkish bank.

Qatar National Bank said that in case of suitable financial proposals, it can acquire the Finansbank.

Finansbank, founded in 1987, is one of the largest banks in Turkey. In Q2 2015, its profit stood at 504 million Turkish liras (2.9286 TRY/USD as of Sept. 13). As of June 30, Finansbank's total loan portfolio was 54.6 billion Turkish liras.

The bank's total assets stood at 82.4 billion Turkish liras, while its deposit portfolio was 42.7 billion Turkish liras.

The bank's own funds amounted to 8.9 billion Turkish liras.
