Aggressive statements made by Moscow on Turkey, upset Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Nov.26.

He said Ankara and Moscow are strategic partners, but it doesn't mean that Russia can disrespect the principle of inviolability of Turkish borders, TRT Haber TV channel reported.

The president noted that the whole world admits that Turkey's position is fair. Further, Erdogan dismissed Moscow's statements that allegedly he intends to Islamize Turkey.

The president said 99 percent of Turkey's population is Muslim and Russia should know about that.

It is not fitting for Russian authorities to make such statements, according to Erdogan.

The Turkish Air Force shot down the Russian SU-24 bomber in its airspace Nov. 24. Both pilots managed to eject and the plane crashed on the territory of Syria.

Relations between Russia and Turkey have deteriorated after the incident.
