Some 192 people were detained on suspicion of various crimes as a result of the special operation conducted by the Turkish police in Istanbul, Anadolu agency reported Jan. 31.
Some 5,000 policemen were involved in the special operation.
It was also reported that the Turkish police will carry out operations in other major cities of the country.
More than 700 people were detained in Istanbul as a result of the special operation conducted by the Turkish police against the organizers of illegal gambling January 9.
