Less and less Russians visiting Turkey

The number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey’s resort province of Antalya in January 2016, reduced by 81.14 percent compared to January 2015.

The number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey's resort province of Antalya in January 2016, reduced by 81.14 percent compared to January 2015, a regional department of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a report Feb. 8.

Antalya was visited by 2,427 Russian tourists in January 2016, according to the report.

The number of German tourists visiting Antalya reduced by 16 percent and stood at 44,262 in January 2016.

However, the number of tourists from Israel visiting Antalya increased by 122 percent during the year, and was 4,475 in January 2016.

In addition, 365 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Antalya in January 2016.

Turkey was visited by 29.6 million tourists in 2015, some 12.4 million of which visited Istanbul, according to a report from Turkey's Statistics Institute.

Turkey's revenues from tourism were $31.5 billion in 2015, or 8.3 percent less than the previous year.
