Turkey and Iran discussed bilateral relations during Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour's visit to Ankara, Anadolu agency said Feb. 10.

During the visit, Rahimpour met with Feridun Sinirlioglu, advisor to the Turkish foreign minister.

Along with bilateral relations, the two sides also discussed regional issues.

Iran and Turkey disagree on the settlement of the Syrian crisis. While Iran is actively supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Ankara stands for Assad's immediate leaving the presidency. Moreover, Ankara believes that the main reason for the bloodshed in Syria is President Assad's policy.
