Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr. 19

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Islamophobia is becoming more common in the European Union (EU), said Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

He made the remarks Apr. 19 during his speech at the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg.

The growth of Islamophobia is a serious threat for Europe's future, noted Davutoglu, adding that Turkey has always condemned and condemns all forms of terrorism.

Davutoglu said that after terror attacks in a number of European countries Turkey showed its solidarity with Europe and waited for reciprocal step after terror attacks in Ankara.

Turkey and the EU have to expand bilateral relations in all directions, said the prime minister, also noting the importance of joint fight against terrorism.

"None of the world's religions has anything in common with terrorism," said Davutoglu.

Turkey is one of the leading countries, which actively fight against terrorism in the region, according to him.
