Turkey has only expressed regret over the incident with the Russian aircraft, the Turkish presidential administration told Trend June 27.
In a letter to Russian President, Turkish leader Recep Tayip Erdogan expressed his condolences to the family of the pilot of the Su-24 and regretted the incident with the Russian aircraft, said in the administration.
"Turkey stands for normalization of relations with Russia. Ankara never closed diplomatic channels with Moscow for the normalization of relations between the two countries", added in the administration.
The administration also noted that the normalization of relations between Turkey and Russia has a positive impact on the resolution of the crisis in the region.
