Three members of the “Islamic State” (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) have been detained as a result of the special operation carried out by the police in Turkey’s Gaziantep province, the Hurriyet newspaper reported Sept.1.
Reportedly, the detainees were planning to commit a terrorist attack in the country.
Twenty kilograms of explosives, three hand grenades and a firearm was seized during the searches in the houses of the detainees.
The detained people were listed as wanted terrorists in Turkey.
Earlier, Turkish media reported that the IS militants use Turkish province of Gaziantep on the border with Syria as a stronghold.
