Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu updated his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel on Ankara's concern over the systematic pressure on representatives of the Turkish community in Germany over the last year, Anadolu news agency reported March 8.

Cavusoglu made remarks at the meeting in Berlin, Germany March 8.

Cavusoglu added that the current situation negatively affects the Turkish community and contradicts the policy of social integration in Germany.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has become a target of hatred,” he added. “In general, there is a campaign against Turkey. The accomplices of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and other terrorist organizations freely operate in Germany.”

"Germany should refrain from evaluating the constitutional referendum scheduled for mid-April in Turkey," Cavusoglu said.
