Azerbaijani-Belorussian relations are on the rise, House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Chairman Vladimir Andreichenko said.

"Belorussian and Azerbaijani presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev repeatedly have stressed the successful and dynamic nature of their ties," Andreichenko said in an interview with Trend on the eve of his visit to Azerbaijan.

Andreichenko said the inter-parliamentary ties differ in terms of stability and the regularity of contacts. He stressed that they are based on a contractual basis.

Trust and openness in the relations between MPs in both countries, he said. The most urgent issues are being discussed, he said.

"The two parliaments have set up working groups on cooperation," he said.

He added that MPs are involved in the monitoring of elections, referendums, international conferences and other meetings of a parliamentary character.

"There are good prospects in establishing closer contacts at the level of profile commissions," he said. "The agenda of our cooperation is saturated. There is intensive dialogue. I am sure that its development will continue within the current visit."

Economic cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan is developing dynamically, the chairman underscored.
