The Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has sent draft protocols on coordination of Azerbaijani satellite telecommunications assignments of Azerbaijani telecommunication satellite Azerspace to international satellite communications company INMARSAT (UK), the ministry told Trend on Monday.

Procedures of coordinating with INMARSAT are in the final stages. The company will present the Azerbaijani side coordinated projects of the protocols in the near future, the ministry added.

"The Ministry is also in correspondence with Korea, Italy, Russia and Turkey in this regard. The country with which Azerbaijan plans to hold direct meetings will be determined in the near future," the Ministry stressed.

At the moment coordination issues agreed with Belgium, Spain, Norway, Vietnam, and Australia. An agreement has been achieved with Greece on many aspects. Complete agreement will be reached in September.

A significant portion of questions were also coordinated with Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

During the next five years, Azerbaijan must solve completely the satellite positions coordination of national satellite Azerspace with satellite systems in 35 countries.

The only legitimate basis for the consolidation of international law to occupy the orbital position is the launching the satellite to the orbit after the international coordination of the parameters of satellite communications systems with systems of other countries and their notification in the register of ITU.

Unless the satellite was commissioned until the deadline established by procedures, the unrealized orbital-frequency resource is canceled by ITU and enters into a common pool of resources for coordination for other satellite systems asserted in this position.
