The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry will determine the orbital position for the second satellite of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov told Trend on Monday.
Mammadov said that the work in this direction is underway.
According to the forecast made by the Ministry, the second Azerbaijani satellite can be launched into orbit in 2015.
A decision on the future strategy of developing the second satellite program in Azerbaijan will be made in the nearest future.
The second satellite will be low - orbited. It will be used for the remote sensing of the Earth during the cartographic work, geological research and other.
The second satellite program is expected to be implemented at the expense of own funds of the republic.
