Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 25 / Trend H. Valiyev /

The Azerbaijani Internet community (ISOC Azerbaijan) will resume the negotiations with the ISOC central office to pass the accreditation in this organization, head of the Research Center for Information Yashar Hajiyev told Trend today.

He said that the main problem in the issue of accreditation is compliance with the charter of the national Internet community and standards of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

"Unfortunately, the charter of the Azerbaijani Internet community does not meet the ICANN charter," he said. "Even if the charter is brought into conformity with the ISOC requirements, its registration in the Justice Ministry would be burdensome. Therefore, the negotiations will be conducted. We hope that the national ISOC will be accredited with its charter, which was approved."

After the accreditation procedure completes, the national office will have its own representative in the ISOC central office.

The main activities of the ISOC organization are to determine the direction of developing the Internet and promoting global information exchange.

The key objectives of the ISOC representative office in Azerbaijan include the development of new rules regulating the Internet community, including the rules governing the national domains, consulting services, formation of a single civilized approach to resolve the conflict situations.
