State funding to be provided for DVB-T-decoder production in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry will allocate the necessary funds from the state budget for DVB-T-decoder production for digital television, a source close to the project told Trend on Monday.
Decoders, whose production is planned to be expanded on the production line at the PEYK factory of Ministry of Defense Industry, will be designed for low-income population.
"The issue of the production of decoders for low-income families was considered by the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan. Production will begin after the exact number of poor families is determined," the source said.
It is expected that final results will be available shortly.
As PEYK previously told Trend, the plant is ready for the production of decoders. "If the state orders will be for example 300,000 units, we plan to produce twice as much (500,000-600,000 units) that will facilitate the emergence of the decoders in the retail network," the factory said.
The devices will be brought on the market under the brand name 'DVB-T PEYK', and the cost will not exceed 30 manat.
The production of these devices will be regulated in accordance with the purchasing power of consumers.
