Obligations of Azerbaijani banks increase by almost 6 percent in January - June

The obligations of Azerbaijani banks increased by 5.95 percent during the first half of the year, amounting to 12.56 billion manat, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said on Friday.

The obligations of Azerbaijani banks increased by 5.95 percent during the first half of the year, amounting to 12.56 billion manat, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said on Friday.

Deposits of legal entities and individuals kept the role of the main source in the formation of the resource base of Azerbaijani banks.

The total deposit base of banks increased by 2.25 percent compared to the beginning of the year, reaching 6.823 billion manat. The share of the deposit portfolio of banks in total liabilities amounted to 46.17 percent compared to 47.85 percent at the beginning of 2012.

Loans and deposits from financial market increased by 4.37 percent compared to the beginning of the year, reaching to 4.54 billion manat. Their share in total liabilities decreased from 31.2 to 30.72 percent for six months.

The share of other liabilities in total liabilities of banks increased from 5.76 to 8.07 percent. Their volume increased by 48.75 per cen, compared to the beginning of the year, reaching to 1.19 billion manat.
