Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 24 / Trend H. Valiyev /
The use of a new form of organizing the activity of public bodies based on mobile communications is being considered in Azerbaijan, a source close to the project told Trend on Friday.
The negotiations are being conducted with the government to form the m-government platform.
Mobile government seeks to ensure efficiency and a convenient way of obtaining services by citizens and organizations.
At present, Azerbaijan is actively developing "e-government", allowing state agencies to render electronic services via the Internet to the population.
"At present, m-government has been actually launched in a number of the world countries," a source said. "Mobile operators' networks are directly used to deploy the "mobile government" services. M-government will enable transferring the vast majority of the 'electronic government' services to SMS-platform. The main task of implementing m-government is the interest of public institutions."
