One of the priorities of timely adequate response to the threats and challenges of today, strengthening of public safety, the joint fight against crime is to improve inter-state cooperation, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade said at the meeting of the CIS Internal Ministers Council which opened in Baku.
"Through cooperative, coordinated efforts during special operations, investigations hundreds of criminal organizations were revealed, serious crimes disclosed, thousands of individuals in the international wanted list detained," Rasizade said.
It is CIS Internal Ministers Council that gives impetus to many initiatives, helps to take timely measures to control crime situation, the prime minister said.
"In Baku at the current meeting we have to discuss a whole range of issues to improve cooperation in the optimization of the fight against the most dangerous forms of organized crime, to continue development and implementation of the most effective forms and methods of further cooperation," Rasizade said.
