The second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council took place here Tuesday with attendance of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Premier of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council took place here Tuesday with attendance of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Premier of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"Our relations have developed rapidly during the past period. Following our Izmir meeting, important events occurred. We met many times. We signed the TANAP project. Decisions made in Izmir are being executed" ,said President Ilham Aliyev in his opening remarks.

"The agenda of our today`s meeting is very comprehensive. Both sides are represented by ministers and their will talk as well", he said.

The Azerbaijani leader noted that relationship between the two states is developing successfully and expressed assurance the present visit would be a roadmap for the future activity.

"Although, the trade turnover was one billion dollars ten years ago, it now reached 3.5 billion. Of course, we should be satisfied with this", said Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan in his remarks.

The Premier noted the two countries forge ahead military, political cultural cooperation.
He said TANAP project will ship Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

"I believe the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will be more effective than the one held in Izmir", he pointed out.
