A meeting of foreign ministers of the GUAM member countries will be held within the UN General Assembly on Sept.26, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze told journalists.
She said foreign ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova will discuss economic cooperation and define the organization's plans.
Kalandadze said the meeting of GUAM foreign ministers will be attended by a delegation of the U.S. State Department.

GUAM was established by the post-Soviet countries in 1997 during the EU presidential summit in Strasbourg. In 1999, Uzbekistan joined the organisation, and left four years later. A decision was made to rename GUAM as an international organisation 'Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM', at the organisation's first summit in Kiev in 2006.
