Technological parks and regional innovation zones (RIZ) will become one of the most discussed themes during the nineteenth international exhibition 'Telecommunications and information technologies' - Bakutel-2013', Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry told Trend on Friday .
In this regard, the organisation of a large scale conference which will address issues of forming innovation zones is expected within the framework of the exhibition supported by the ministry.
This year the BakuTel exhibition will be held prior to the announced date of September 25-28. The exhibition will feature national stands from a number of countries. Azerbaijan's state organisations will present ICT projects at their national stand.
Creation of regional innovation zones in the republic is determined as a priority area of IT-industry development. The project envisages the creation of industrial parks for development of small and medium-sized innovative businesses, a regional base for production and export of electronic hardware and software, transferring the country into an effective transit information centre, training and the development of human resources for emerging information society and the introduction of information technologies in various industries.
