Austria is interested in developing a telecommunication cable production plant in Azerbaijan, Austrian Deputy Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology Andreas Reinhard said during a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Communication and IT Minister Elmir Velizade in Baku on Tuesday, the Communication and IT Ministry reported.
Reinhard added that the production capacity of the plant would cover Azerbaijan's internal needs of this type of production and supply to foreign markets.
Velizade supported the project, stressing the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in other areas.
Austrian Deputy Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology has also expressed interest in cooperating with Azerbaijan in the field of creating 'electronic government', staff training, 'e-health' and information security.
Reinhard has also expressed Austria's willingness to transfer modern technology to Azerbaijan.
