Azerbaijan’s Taxes Ministry to simplify submission of e-declarations

It is planned to simplify the process of submission of electronic declarations and invoices in Azerbaijan until 2016 under the State program of development of "e-government" for 2013-2015, a report published on Thursday in the departmental newspaper of the Ministry of Taxes "Vergilar" says.

It is planned to simplify the process of submission of electronic declarations and invoices in Azerbaijan until 2016 under the State program of development of "e-government" for 2013-2015, a report published on Thursday in the departmental newspaper of the Ministry of Taxes "Vergilar" says.

Among other priorities for the Ministry of Taxes within the state program are the increase of transparency of tax control and inspections, provision of taxpayers with all necessary information as well as education activities. It is also planned to undertake implementation of additional work on the harmonization of the activity of tax authorities in accordance with international standards, the acceleration of work on the transition to electronic payments as well as strengthening information security.

A new state program is prepared by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and will soon be submitted to the Administration of the President. The program is an extension of the State Program on development of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan for 2010-2012 ("Electronic Azerbaijan").

The purpose of the new program is the formation of "e-government" in the country and improvement of methods and mechanisms of control through the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in state institutions, provision of electronic services as well as implementation of comprehensive measures to ensure a simplified and free access of citizens and organizations to these services.

One of the priorities directions set out in the new government program is expansion of non-cash payments and creation of new services in this area. To this end, improvement of the national payment system infrastructure is under consideration. It is also planned to expand the range of services provided by banks, the card infrastructure, the number of POS-terminals, the provision of financial services through the Azerpost postal network and integration of card infrastructure of the postal operator with regional post offices, which will increase the number of online-payments users.
