Azerbaijan has joined the "eTwinning Plus" project, which is a working space of the "eTwinning" program within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan told Trend on Friday.

According to the ministry, participation in this project will give students the opportunity to increase the level of motivation for learning foreign languages and improve their ICT skills as well. Teachers will also have the opportunity to establish direct contacts with the experts from the European countries in order to exchange the experience and teaching methods.

Ten Azerbaijani schools are involved in the project. The European Commission will finance up to 80 percent of the project cost, while the remaining 20 percent will be provided through internal resources.

Azerbaijani schools that will be connected to the project, fully meet the required criteria for participation. Schools are equipped with technical equipment and have access to Internet, whereas the teachers are highly qualified.

Some trainings will be organized for working with the "eTwinning" platform.

The "eTwinning" portal created at the initiative of the European Commission is a virtual meeting space for partner schools. Through this portal, students from different countries may talk to each other, share information about the culture, history, etc.

Implementation of the "eTwinning" project is designed five years.
