In January-April, Azerbaijan imported 36,558 units of mobile phones and other handsets running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.), for a total of $ 1,700,700, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.
According to the State Statistics Committee, compared to January-April 2012, the number of imported mobile phones in the country decreased by 15.8 per cent (previous year: 43,427 units). In value terms, this index also declined by 26.4 per cent.
The average monthly import of mobile phones into the country amounted to 9 thousand units. Monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms amounted to more than $ 425 thousand.
