Tajikistan to observe presidential election in Azerbaijan

Representatives from the executive department of the Tajik president will participate in the observation mission from the CIS to monitor the presidential election in Azerbaijan scheduled for October 9, 2013, head of the administration of the Tajik Central Election Commission Abdumannon Dodoev told Asia-Plus agency.

According to him, the mission of the international observers includes senior advisor to the president of the Republic of Tajikistan for legal policy Khursandmurod Mirzoev and the head of the Legal Department of the executive of Tajik president Dustmurod Murodov.
The final number of officially registered candidates for the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan amounted to 10 people.

They are: The chairman of New Azerbaijan party, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the chairman of Umid party, Igbal Agazade, and a self-nominated candidate Zahid Oruj, the chairman of the United Popular Front party of Azerbaijan Gudrat Hasanguliyev, the chairman of Modern Musavat party Hafiz Hajiyev, the chairman the Social Democratic party of Azerbaijan Araz Alizade and the National Revival party chairman Faraj Guliyev, nominated by the initiative group of voters of National Council of Democratic Forces Jamil Hasanli, member of parliament Ilyas Ismayilov and the chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu.

Around 22 people submitted documents to CEC for approving their candidacies.

Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held October 9.
