In January-August 2013, Azerbaijan imported some 53.341 mobile phones and other devices running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.), for a total sum of $2,409,800 million, State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend on Friday.
In comparison with the same period in 2012, the number of imported mobile phones in the country dropped by 38.71 percent (last year some 87, 019 mobile phones were imported), the State Statistical Committee said. In value terms, this indicator also declined by 44.79 percent.
At the average over 6.6 million mobile phones were imported monthly in the country. The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms amounted to more than $301,000.
