Last month, the total number of the Asan İmza mobile e-signature certificates increased in Azerbaijan by 4.4 per cent, head of the Legal Department of the Azerbaijan Taxes Ministry, Samira Musayeva told Trend on Thursday.

According to her, the number of certificates issued by the Asan Certification Service Center (ASXM) reached 21,300. Some 11,070 mobile e-signatures have been issued to legal entities, 10,174 - to individuals and 61 mobile e-signatures accounted for public servants.

"Currently, we are conducting talks with all state structures with regard to integration of the Asan İmza to the e-services provided by them. Electronic services of both the Ministry of Taxes and other departments were previously provided with encryption and password. We move away from this practice, and today e-services such as the provision of electronic tax invoices, VAT deposit accounts, as well as online registration of individuals and legal entities are conducted solely with the use of e-signatures," Musayeva said.

Musayeva noted that, in future the Taxes Ministry's e-services will be provided using electronic digital signature (EDS). In perspective it is expected that the same practice will also be applied by all state bodies of the country. According to Musayeva this will help to increase the number of EDS users.

Asan Certification Service created by the decree of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan, issues certificates for authentication and digital signature for mobile SIM-cards (Asan İmza) and provides other services, providing the use of certificates and legally obligatory digital signatures by the government structures, the private sector and citizens.

On April 9, the Asan Certification Service Center obtained accreditation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and is authorized to issue e-signature certificates to the state and local governments, businesses and individuals.
