The electronic library (e-library) of the Information Technologies Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2014, according to a message from the institute.
Currently, works are underway for improving the intellectual information service of the e-library and its integration with the world's leading libraries.
The institute will consider the opportunities for commercialization of e-library services.
The e-library will be based on the platform of the AzScienceNet scientific computer network.
Earlier the institute told Trend that the access to the e-library will be available for all structural units of ANAS.
Currently 29 of 35 of ANAS institutes are connected to the AzScienceNet.
The remaining institutes are expected to be connected this year.
It is planned to lay fiber optic communication lines. In addition, the local infrastructure will be expanded at a number of ANAS institutes using intelligent switches, and the works will be strengthened to ensure the network security.
